Best fighting game opening theme in your opinion? (As of October 25th, 2024)

Dear fighting game fans in the Giant Bomb forums

Here I go for another fighting game thread, if you ask me which is the best opening theme for the fighting game genre, it's either this:

I came in to specifically say Soul Edge. Nice picks!

@sparky_buzzsaw: Same! I saw the thread title and my mind immediately went to Soul Edge. It's a hell of an opening.

The other one that comes to mind—and I'm not sure I would argue for it on the music alone, the visuals are also important—is the opening for Tekken 2.

Those are the two from my childhood that really stick out in my mind.

Also, it's not a fighting game, but damn the intro for Chrono Cross is something else. Possibly my favorite opening theme to a game ever. More recently, the Persona games have also had some great ones.

I like Street Fighter IV, I think it's IV that was on xbox 360 anyway.

Here is another one of my favorite opening themes for fighting game genre that I forgot to show up is this:

It doesn't get more "unreasonably epic" than Uematsu's Brawl theme.
