Edit: Nevermind, It's all good :)

I logged into steam on my browser, which prompted me to enter in a code (which was sent to my email). While looking at the email, I noticed something that said

"We've received a request to access your Steam account from a new computer

located at IP address... (not putting my IP here dog)

Our records show this IP address is in NEWARK NJ US"

I don't live in newark and have never taken my computer to newark....

Then it says something about phishing, and now I'm really worried..... What would be the cause of steam thinking my comp is in Newark? Is someone trying to steal my shit?

Do you live nearby? IPs often show up as nearby areas as they are routed through them by your ISP. Mine shows up as a city an hour or two away.

Yeah, I live in New York... You've put me at some ease, but I'm gonna deauthorize all computers, and contact steam support anyway...

You're probably OK assuming that the IP is the right one; if you want to check that it isn't just steam you can look at http://www.whatismyip.com/ and that should say Newark also.

There's a problem if you're actually physically far away from Newark though.

That site is saying newark as well, and I live in new york. Is this normal?

I looked up the IP, and its hostname has my ISP in it, so Im assuming that its saying newark because my ISP is based there... Phew, that scared me for a sec

I have the same problem but the results in ip2location.com is correct. What should I do?
