The Community Spotlight 2024.10.06

The new face of horror.

Welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we check out the important site-related news and best community creations from the previous week on one handy article.

This week marked the stunning conclusion of Mike's incredibly dark journey through the Wii version of Alone in the Dark. So, that means we now need to begin praying for Lucy and what gaming torture Blight Club has in mind for her.

Fandom is celebrating its 20th anniversary. To mark that occasion, it will be having a presence during the New York Comic Con, at the Hard Rock Hotel on October 18th. Fandom will also be hosting a panel at the New York Comic Con about the development and construction of the newest area in Universal Orlando hosted by GameSpot staff.

Speaking of Fandom, I did have the meeting with a community manager last week and while I cannot divulge everything discussed during that meeting I can say that an attempt to make what they are doing behind the scenes more transparent to this community is coming in the future. Again, I can't say much, but there was a universal agreement that more needs to be done to make communication more clear and tangible on the site.

Finally, hopefully you enjoyed the site's "Infrastructure Week" and if you are worried about missing any of the streams themed to this topic, here are some links to make your life slightly easier:

In honor of Mike finally defeating the Wii port of the 2008 Alone in the Dark reboot, I thought it would behoove us to memorialize our wiki page for the game, though, most of its information is on the 360 and curiously "different" PS3 release. If you want to update the page to include some juicy facts about the Wii port, that would be greatly appreciated!
