I’ve been gaming on my iPhone a lot lately, and while the graphics and performance are impressive, I can’t help but feel like gaming isn’t a priority for Apple. Things like the phone heating up during long sessions, battery life taking a hit, and the lack of physical buttons make me wonder if they’re really thinking about gamers when designing these devices.
I recently learned about Scarlet on iOS, an app installer from this site (https://scarletapps.com/) that lets you install games and apps from external resources. It’s opened up some interesting options for me, like trying out games not available on the App Store, but it also makes me think about how restricted the ecosystem can feel. Maybe if Apple took gaming more seriously, they’d embrace ideas like this natively.
What do you guys think? Is Apple ever going to take gaming more seriously, or is it always going to feel like an afterthought? Anyone here using controllers or other gear to make iPhone gaming better? Would love to hear your thoughts.
