I wish I was in my teens or early 20s so I could wear the "This is not an Xbox" T-shirt

It's real and it's stupid.

I'm not even someone who thinks that you can't wear gaming related apparel at a certain age, but this level of self-aware stupidity only really works when you're young. It's extremely cringe in exactly the way I can appreciate.

I've never been a video game clothes guy, let alone tattoos, but I do appreciate a good dumb shirt. I just don't feel comfortable wearing them in public at my advanced age.

$30 for an ad slogan on a shirt that looks like they spent all of $2 to design? Is this how they plan to make up losses on console sales now that Game Pass has peaked?

@brian_: $2? Seems pretty high TBH.

If they can just get everyone to buy shirts and other merchandise to label everything that isn't an Xbox they'll be raking in the dough!

I bought the Xbox mini fridge a few years ago. I gotta say that was not money well spent.

But I think you're fine wearing a video game t-shirt. It's no less vintage and no less embarrassing than wearing a Metallica or any old band shirt out in public. Which is to say that it is embarrassing but if that's you, then let it be.

@apewins: There are gaming shirts I would probably wear but this one in particular is just too...youthfully ironic. It's NOT me anymore. I also would not wear a Metallica shirt.

I'm old enough to recognize that I've changed, even if I missed aspects of my previous self. I was talking to some friends last week about how I used to be a prankster. Nothing super malicious, but like spreading silly rumors (not embarrassing, just silly) or hiding a Bluetooth speaker in someone's kitchen and then Rickrolling them while they were cooking dinner, and while I still think that stuff is funny, if I tried to do that now it would feel forced, even though my friends still chuckle about some of the silly stuff I did back in the day. It's just not who I am anymore.

And neither is wearing a cringe ironic T-shirt.

My current wardrobe is almost exclusively Wholesome Direct shirts and AC/DC shirts. I do own a Metallica shirt, but that's been shoved in the back of my closet for over a decade.

@mellotronrules: I was gonna mention that. Might as well release an "Xbox Don't Care" design.
